COMPUTATIONAL WIND TUNNEL
Wind tunnels are one of the oldest measuring and testing equipment for analysing fluid flows around solid bodies. Thank to modern numerical simulation techniques besides the real machine a computer can be used as a wind tunnel as well.
In the automotive industry these simulation methods are used on a daily basis but these computational tools can be utilised by architects designing high buildings or ones with complicated roofing. In the 3D analysis the wind load can be applied to the model, the wall forces can be determined and used to design the optimal frame for the roof.
Do you have a special vehicle, building or steel structure design? Send us the geometry and use the computational wind tunnel of CFdesign for the first analyses.
