This application example is interesting in terms of environmental protection although it was really exciting to simulate with a CFD simulation. There is a waste burner works in Hungary where water vapor is used to cool the flue gas as fast as possible. The speed of cooling is extremely important because this way the NOx content of the flue gas will be very low. It gives the actuality of environmental protection.
It is all just fine, but after some months of operation a "little" problem has evolved at the bottom of the cooling tower...
